APDS Afrikan/Afrikan-American College Scholarship Fund
Description:
In 1999 Millicent “Mama Kim” Dixon, a retired nurse and Co-Chair of the APDS Council of Elders, established the APDS Afrikan/Afrikan American Scholarship Fund to support the Africentric Personal Development Shop, Inc. (APDS) in its’ effort to provide scholarship funds to students aspiring to graduate from post secondary learning institutions. The funds are “housed” and invested by the preeminent Columbus Foundation of Columbus, Ohio. APDS Board of Trustees will grant two one-year scholarships per year to a qualified female and male student.
Eligibility Requirements:
17 to 22 years old
3.00 overall grade point average (in an institution they have been enrolled in over the past nine months)
Accepted at a post secondary school
Attended, volunteered, and or worked in the APDS Nguzo Saba Institute for a combined total of 18 months
