TG’s Charley Wootan Scholarship Program For International Students at Blufton University

TG’s Charley Wootan Grant Program

Since 2000, TG has been proud to support a grant program designed to provide help to students pursuing a higher education and who have financial need. For the 2011-12 academic year, TG’s Charley Wootan Grant program will award grants totaling $5 million. TG will award $4 million in grants to students who are Texas residents. TG will distribute $1 million in grants to students residing outside Texas. Grants within Texas will be split between students going to 2-year colleges or vocational schools and students enrolled at 4-year universities.
Eligibility

All Charley Wootan Grant applicants must be U.S. citizens, permanent residents or otherwise eligible to receive Title IV financial aid funding; must have attained or will attain a high school degree or the equivalent; must be enrolled or planning to enroll in college at least half-time, and must be able to demonstrate financial need.

The application period has ended for the 2011-2012 academic year. During the first week of July, provisional recipients only were mailed a notification letter. Unfortunately, if you did not receive notification in early July, you have not been selected as a recipient.

Information about the 2012-2013 Charley Wootan Grant Program is not yet available. Applicants are responsible for checking the website for news about next year’s program. We recommend you begin monitoring the site towards the end of January 2012. To prepare for the application process, complete your 2012-2013 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as early as possible as a complete and processed Student Aid Report (SAR) is required when you apply for the Wootan Grant. Once the program is open, an application form will be posted for you to print, complete, and mail with other required information. Grant application availability will be announced in AIEmail.
