Scholarship Detail:

Chicago Public Schools Scholarship Program provides 4-year scholarships to to Chicago Public Schools high school seniors who have a demonstrated financial need, academic leadership potential and plan to attend one of the 38 UNCF member college or university in the fall of 2012.

Applicants for the Chicago Public Schools scholarship must submit the following required materials:

1. A 500-word essay, double-spaced in 12pt font,

2. Official high school transcript,

3. Two letters of recommendations.

4. Students must file a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) with the Federal Student Aid Programs by February 15, 2012 for verification purposes and upload the Student Aid Report (SAR) to the application.

5. Students must have a demonstrated unmet financial need as verified by the financial aid officer at their respective college or university.

**The preferred method of submitting the application is electronically via uploading required documents directly into the application. Also, a scanned copy of a required document that you would like to be included in the application may be emailed to: Michael.Burton@uncf.org. Please include the type of document and the name of the applicant in the subject of the email.

If you are selected to receive a CPS scholarship the materials below will have to be mailed to CPS after students are notified that they will receive the scholarship (please include your name and CPS on all materials) If you are selected you will receive an email with the address to forward the additional information to:

a) Letter of acceptance from UNCF college or university

b) Copy of SAT/ACT scores

c) 2×3 headshot photograph.
