Wilhelm Johannsen Centre for Functional Genome Research (WJC) is seeking a highly motivated scientist to work on epigenetic DNA modifications, mainly on hydroxymethylation. We are interested in tissue and cell specific dynamics of genome wide hydroxymethylation and methylation and the interaction with non-coding RNAs, with a special interest in the brain. There will be possibility to reshape the project slightly according to the background and interests of the candidate.

WJC is a center-of-excellence in genomic research focusing on the detection of new disease genes and their function and regulation. WJC is equipped with state of the art microscope and next generation sequencing facilities as well as functional labs in molecular biology, histology, cell culture, in situ hybridization  and cytogenetics.

We seek an enthusiastic post-doctoral scientist with a PhD degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Neurosciences or in a related field with experience in molecular biology, genetics and/or epigenetics. The successful applicant will have an outstanding academic track record and at least one first author publication in an international journal. The candidate should be able to work independently as well as having the ability to be a part of a team and thrive in a multi-disciplinary research environment. Strong communication skills in English are essential.

Terms of salary and employment:
Salary and other terms and conditions of appointment are set in accordance with the Agreement between the Ministry of Finance and AC (Danish Confederation of Professional Associations) or other relevant professional organisations. The positions are covered by the Job Structure for Academic Staff at Universities (2007). Non-Danish and Danish applicants for research positions may be eligible for tax reductions, if they have not lived in Denmark the last three years.
